The perfect day in New York City varies depending on the person. For some, it’s a shopping trip on Madison Ave. For others it’s a day trying the cities well-known restaurants (Hello, Dominique Ansel Bakery's cookie shots anyone?) My personal perfect day? Well, I believe I just experienced it. It started out with my morning class getting canceled (YAY). So I decided to do what I do best and go out exploring in the arctic temperatures. I decided to try a coffee place on my second semester bucket list called Ground Support Cafe. But as most things near Bowery, it was too hipster for my suburban-white-girl-ness. So I ordered a ($3?!) shot of espresso and left before Someone with a beanie and a beard asked me how I feel about global warming. After this occurrence I decided I wanted to go find Greenwich Village, which I have never seen during the day. Instead, I ended up in the dead center of China town. And I’m not talking knock-off-purse China town. I’m talking REAL China town. Giving up all hope to getting to Greenwich today, I got on the N train and planned to go to a familiar coffee place (Birch Coffee). Sadly it was packed, but next to it is a place called Play, which I had no idea even served coffee, let alone was attached to the Museum of Sex (Coffee and inflatable boobs?). What’s even more surprising? It wasn’t packed, they have ample seating, AND really good lattes. Needless to say, I have found my new “place”.
